Ducks sign Zolnierczyk to one-year contract

The Anaheim Ducks have signed left wing Harry Zolnierczyk to a one-year contract through the 2015-16 season. Per club policy, financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Zolnierczyk, 27 (9/1/87), has scored 5-4=9 points with 83 penalty minutes (PIM) in 59 career NHL games with Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and the New York Islanders. The 5-11, 185-pound forward set several NHL career highs in 2011-12 with Philadelphia, including goals (3), assists (3), points (6) and appearances (37). A veteran of five seasons in the American Hockey League (AHL), Zolnierczyk has collected 58-67=125 points with 295 PIM in 233 career AHL games. He made his Calder Cup Playoff debut in 2014 with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, recording 3-7-10 points with 10 PIM in 17 games. Zolnierczyk was originally acquired by Anaheim from Philadelphia in exchange for Jay Rosehill on Apr. 1, 2013 and appeared in nine games with Norfolk (AHL), scoring 2-0=2 points with 14 PIM.
