Ducks sign defenseman Holzer to one-year contract

The Ducks have signed defenseman Korbinian Holzer to a one-year contract through the 2015-16 NHL season. Per club policy, no financial terms of the deal were disclosed.

Holzer, 27 (2/16/88), was acquired from the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for defenseman Eric Brewer and Anaheim’s fifth-round selection in the 2016 NHL Draft on Mar. 2, 2015. In 58 career NHL games, Holzer has collected 2-7=9 points with 55 penalty minutes (PIM). The 6-3, 205-pound defenseman has also appeared in 258 career American Hockey League games with the Toronto Marlies, scoring 10-57=67 points with a +36 rating and 306 PIM. He has reached the Calder Cup Playoffs on three occasions with the Marlies, collecting 3-10=13 points with 67 PIM in 35 games.
