Manchester tops Utica, leads 2-0 in Calder Cup Finals

Nic Dowd scored 5:36 into overtime to give the Manchester Monarchs a 2-1 win against the Utica Comets in Game 2 of the Calder Cup Finals in Manchester, N.H., on Sunday.

Manchester took a 2-0 series lead after winning Game 1 in overtime on Saturday.

Zach O'Brien scored in the first period for Manchester, the American Hockey League affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings. Nicklas Jensen tied the game 1-1 late in the second period for Utica, the AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks.

Jacob Markstrom made 37 saves for Utica. Jean-Francois Berube made 24 saves for Manchester.

Game 3 of the best-of-7 series is Wednesday at Utica (7 p.m ET).
