Blackhawks, Gustafsson agree to terms

The Chicago Blackhawks announced today that they have agreed to terms with defenseman Erik Gustafsson on a two-year contract.

Gustafsson, 23, shared fifth among Swedish Hockey League defensemen with 29 points (4G, 25A) in 55 regular-season games with Frolunda; he also posted 131 shots on goal. The Nynashamn, Sweden, native added three points (1G, 2A), including one game-winner, and 31 penalty minutes in 12 postseason contests. He paced tournament defensemen in the Champions Hockey League with 19 points (6G, 13A) in 13 games played. Gustafsson has 56 points (9G, 47A) in 146 regular-season SHL games across three seasons with Frolunda (2013-15) and Djurgarden (2011-12).

He was originally drafted by the Edmonton Oilers in the fourth round (93rd overall) of the 2012 National Hockey League Draft.
