Senators goalie Anderson to start must-win Game 4

OTTAWA -- Facing elimination, the Ottawa Senators are turning again to goaltender Craig Anderson for Game 4 of their Eastern Conference First Round series against the Montreal Canadiens at Canadian Tire Centre on Wednesday (7 p.m. ET; USA, CBC, TVA Sports).

Senators coach Dave Cameron said he chose Anderson rather than Andrew Hammond, who started the first two games of the series, because of Anderson's experience.

Anderson started Game 3 and made 47 saves in a 2-1 overtime loss.

"He has a proven playoff record of being a real good goalie," Cameron said.

Anderson, 33, is 10-13 with a 2.56 goals-against average and .928 save percentage in 24 career Stanley Cup Playoff games. He was a star in the Senators' first-round win against the Canadiens in 2013.

Hammond, who led the Senators to the playoffs with a 20-1-2 record down the stretch, allowed seven goals on 81 shots in the two games in Montreal.

"For us, we have to treat it as another game," Anderson said. "If you put too much pressure on it, it can go in the wrong direction for you. I think we have to focus on one period at a time, one shift at a time, and not really think too much about the consequences and at the end of the day leave everything on the table and see what happens."
