Oilers, LaLeggia agree to terms on entry-level contract

The Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday agreed to terms with defenseman Joey LaLeggia on a two-year, entry-level contract.

LaLeggia, 22, had 15 goals and 40 points in 37 games for the University of the Denver during his senior season and is one of 10 finalists for the Hobey Baker Award, given annually to the top player in collegiate hockey.

A fifth-round pick (No. 123) of the Oilers in the 2012 NHL Draft, he had 49 goals and 132 points in 156 games for the Pioneers. He helped them reach the NCAA regional finals this season.
