ST. LOUIS -- St. Louis Blues left wing Alexander Steen sustained a lower-body injury in the first period Saturday against the Columbus Blue Jackets and did not return.

Right wing T.J. Oshie (sick) was not in the lineup, leaving the Blues without two of three forwards from their top-two line with center David Backes.

Steen appeared to collide knee-on-knee with Blue Jackets defenseman Cody Goloubef with 11:29 remaining in the first period. He remained on the bench initially but left and did not return.

Steen was second on the Blues with 62 points and their leader with 38 assists.

Oshie, who has 19 goals and 32 assists in 66 games this season, did not take part in the morning skate.

The Blues entered the game three points behind the Nashville Predators for first place in the Central Division with two games in hand.
