OHL Roundup: Greyhounds' 12-game win streak halted by Battalion

NORTH BAY, Ont. - Nick Moutrey had two goals as the North Bay Battalion halted the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds' 12-game win streak with a 4-2 victory Wednesday night in Ontario Hockey League action.

Alex Henriksson and Nick Paul also scored for the Battalion (33-19-11), who jumped out to a 3-0 lead after 40 minutes of play.

Jean Dupuy and Anthony DeAngelo supplied the scoring for the Greyhounds (50-12-2), who remain one point ahead of the Oshawa Generals for top spot in the OHL standings.

North Bay's Jake Smith made 33 saves for the win as Brandon Halverson turned away 31-of-35 shots for Sault Ste. Marie.

The Battalion went 1-for-6 on the power play while the Greyhounds failed to convert on two chances with the man advantage.

ERIE, Pa. — Alex DeBrincat scored twice and Devin Williams made 23 saves as the Otters blanked Niagara.

Quentin Maksimovich also scored for the Otters (45-14-4).

Connor McDavid had his 27-game point streak snapped and was kept off the scoresheet for only the second time this season in 43 games. The other time came back in November and was also against the IceDogs.

Brent Moran kicked out 22-of-25 shots for Niagara (33-26-4), which had its run of six straight wins stopped.
