WORCESTER, Mass. - Evan Trupp scored three times and set up one more as the Worcester Sharks doubled up the visiting St. John's IceCaps 6-3 on Friday in American Hockey League play.
Rylan Schwartz, John McCarthy and Eriah Hayes also scored for the Sharks (30-17-6), who are 6-0-1 in their past seven outings, while Trevor Parkes tacked on three assists.
Chase Balisy, John Albert and Scott Kosmachuk found the back of the net for the IceCaps (26-24-8), who trailed 4-3 before giving up two empty-net goals in the final two minutes of regulation.
Worcester's Aaron Dell made 29 saves for the win as Connor Hellebuyck turned away 23-of-27 shots for St. John's.
The Sharks failed to earn a power-play opportunity while the IceCaps went 0 for 3 with the man advantage.
