Blackhawks recall goalie Darling, send down Raanta

The Chicago Blackhawks announced today that they recalled forward Joakim Nordstrom and goaltender Scott Darling from the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League and reassigned forward Ryan Hartman and goaltender Antti Raanta to Rockford.

Nordstrom, 22, has recorded two assists in 24 games with Chicago this season. The Stockholm, Sweden, native has tallied 16 points (9G, 7A) in 23 games with Rockford this year; he collected his first career hat trick and added an assist on Dec. 13 at Lake Erie. Nordstrom was the team’s third-round selection (90th overall) in the 2010 National Hockey League Draft.

Darling, 26, has appeared in seven games with Chicago, posting a 5-2-0 record, .937 save percentage and 1.97 goals-against average. The Lemont, Ill., native made his National Hockey League debut with the Blackhawks on Oct. 26 vs. Ottawa, turning aside 31 of 32 shots on goal for his first career win. He has a 14-8-2 record, including two shutouts, a .927 save percentage and 2.20 GAA in 26 games with Rockford this season.
