Goaltender Karri Ramo was activated off injured reserve Tuesday by the Calgary Flames, who recalled defenseman Tyler Wotherspoon from Adirondack of the American Hockey League.

The Flames created roster space for Ramo and Wotherspoon by placing defenseman Ladislav Smid on IR and reassigning forward Drew Shore to Adirondack.

Ramo is 8-5-1 with a 2.67 goals-against average and .904 save percentage in 16 games. In his absence, Joni Ortio was recalled from the AHL and has won four straight decisions, allowing five goals.

Wotherspoon had four assists in 14 NHL games for the Flames last season. He has two goals and 15 points in 38 AHL games this season.

Smid has one assist in 31 games for the Flames this season. Shore made his Calgary debut Jan. 15 against the Arizona Coyotes.

The Flames face the Anaheim Ducks at Honda Center on Wednesday in their final game prior to the All-Star break.
