Nick Cousins' three points lifts AHL Phantoms to 6-2 win over IceCaps

ST. JOHN'S, N.L. - Nick Cousins scored one goal and assisted on two more to pace the Lehigh Valley Phantoms to their fourth straight win with a 6-2 victory over the St. John's IceCaps in American Hockey League action on Sunday.

Oliver Lauridsen and Andrew Gordon had a goal and a helper apiece for the Phantoms (18-12-5), and Steven Delisle and Jay Rosehill also scored. Austin Fyten and Jason Akeson each chipped in with two assists.

Nicolas Blanchard scored both goals for St. John's (15-18-6), and Kyle MacKinnon racked up two assists.

Lehigh Valley goaltender Anthony Stolarz stopped 21 shots for the win.

Peter Budaj started in net for the IceCaps, giving up three goals on nine shots through 10:49. Connor Hellebuyck stopped 22-of-25 shots the rest of the way.

The Phantoms were 1 for 2 on the power play while St. John's failed to take advantage of its four power-play opportunities.
