Canada expects bigger test from Slovakia in world junior semifinals

TORONTO - Just over a week since Canada crushed Slovakia 8-0 on the first day of the world junior championship, the two teams meet again with a spot in the gold-medal game on the line.

This time, Canadian players don't expect it to be so easy, and the Slovaks are out to show they're better than they were on Boxing Day.

Since allowing five goals on 23 shots to Canada, goaltender Denis Godla has only let in a total of six on 136 shots in the past four games.

Forward Martin Reway said Godla "has to be perfect (and) he knows that."

Canada outshot Slovakia 34-12 in their first matchup, so Reway added that he and his teammates must give Godla more help than they did before.

Canada announced Saturday afternoon that Zach Fucale (3-0-0, 0.33 GAA, .982 save percentage) will start in goal.
