Chicago Blackhawks forward Kris Versteeg will be out about a month with an injury, coach Joel Quenneville said Saturday.

Versteeg blocked a shot during third period of the 2015 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic on Jan. 1 against the Washington Capitals and left the game with an apparent hand injury.

In 34 games this season, Versteeg ranks third on the Blackhawks in goals (nine), assists (18) and points (27).

The Blackhawks recalled forward Teuvo Teravainen from the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League on Friday. Teravainen participated in the 2015 IIHF World Junior Championship with Finland.

A 20-year-old rookie selected with the 18th pick of the 2012 NHL Draft, Teravainen has played three games for Chicago this season, his only NHL experience. In 33 games with Rockford, Teravainen has six goals and 23 points.
