FORSBERG, RINNE LEAD PREDATORS TO OT VICTORY

Filip Forsberg scored at 3:55 of overtime and Pekka Rinne made 37 saves – including a penalty shot in overtime – for his second shutout of the season (also Oct. 17 at Winnipeg) as the Predators picked up their third straight victory. Nashville has won five consecutive home games and nine of its past 12 contests overall (9-3-0).

* With the win, the Predators (15-5-2, 32 points) moved two points ahead of the Blues for sole possession of first place in the Central Division and within one point of the Ducks for top spot in the Western Conference.

* Rinne improved to 9-1-0 with a 1.80 goals-against average and a .936 save percentage in his past 10 games. Per the Elias Sports Bureau, Rinne has won nine of 10 appearances for the first time since he posted a career-long 11-game winning streak from Jan. 12 to Feb. 7, 2012. Overall, he leads all goaltenders with 15 wins and a .932 save percentage (tied) and ranks second in the League with a 1.86 save percentage.

* Rinne posted his highest save total in a shutout since a 38-save performance on Jan. 19, 2012 at Columbus. The shutout was the 34th of his career.

* Forsberg’s goal was his third career game-winner and first in overtime. According to Elias, Forsberg's goal marked the seventh time in franchise history that a rookie scored in overtime (last: Seth Jones, Mar. 10 at Ottawa). He also scored the game-winner in the last meeting between the clubs Nov. 11 at Bridgestone Arena (a 3-2 win).

* Forsberg leads all Predators skaters and NHL rookies in goals (10) assists (13) and points (23). Overall he is tied with three others for 10th in League scoring.

* FUN FACT: The two clubs also met on U.S. Thanksgiving in 2013 when Ilya Bryzgalov recorded and 33-save shutout and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins potted the game-winner in a 3-0 Oilers victory.

The Predators played their third straight overtime game for the first time since a stretch from Oct. 16 to 21 (3 OTLs) . . . Predators forward Mike Fisher played 12:44 and registered three shots in his season debut . . . Jordan Eberle was awarded a penalty shot in overtime, the second for the Oilers this season – Taylor Hall converted on the first attempt on Oct. 20 vs. Tampa Bay . . . Rinne has turned aside five of seven career penalty shot attempts against him . . . Oilers defensemen Mark Fayne and Jeff Petry each registered a career-high six shots . . .The Department of Player Safety suspended Stars forward Ryan Garbutt for two games for kneeing Oilers forward Taylor Hall; they also suspended Jets forward Adam Lowry for one game for boarding Sabres forward Patrick Kaleta . . . ICYMI: Hockey Hall of Fame member and ex-New York Rangers forward Pat LaFontaine and recent Flyers Hall of Fame inductee John LeClair were among those aboard the Discover/NHL “Frozen Fall Fun” float in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on Thursday in New York.
