Luke Adam's two-goal performance powers Americans past Marlies 6-1

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Luke Adam had back-to-back goals in the second period and added an assist in the Rochester Americans' 6-1 rout of the Toronto Marlies on Friday in American Hockey League play.

Matt Ellis scored twice in the third period for Rochester (7-7-0), who snapped a five-game losing streak. Johan Larsson and William Carrier chipped in for the Americans, the Buffalo Sabres' minor league club.

Andrey Makarov made 23 saves to earn the win.

Greg McKegg was the lone scorer for the Marlies (5-6-1), the AHL affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs. Antoine Bibeau stopped 24-of-30 shots in net for Toronto.

Rochester went 2 for 4 on the power play, while the Marlies could not score on their two man advantages.

Adam's first goal of the night was the eventual winner for the Americans.
