Giordano, Anderson, Tarasenko named NHL's three stars of the week

NEW YORK, N.Y. - Calgary Flames defenceman Mark Giordano is the NHL's first star of the week.

Giordano led all NHL players with seven points (two goals, five assists) in seven games last week to extend his point-scoring streak to six games.

Ottawa goaltender Craig Anderson is the week's second star, while St. Louis forward Vladimir Tarasenko is the third star.

Giordano opened the week on Tuesday with a goal and an assist on Sean Monahan's overtime goal in Calgary's 4-3 win at Washington. Giordano followed that up with a pair of assists in a 5-2 loss to at Tampa Bay on Thursday and capped the week with a goal and two assists in a 6-4 win at Florida on Saturday.

Giordano leads all defenceman with 18 points (five goals, 13 assists) in 16 games this season.

Anderson posted a 2-0-1 record with a 0.65 goals-against average, .981 save percentage and one shutout to help the Senators gain five out of a possible eight points over the week.

Tarasenko, the first star for the week ending Nov. 2, had six points (three goals, three assists) to lead the Blues to three victories in four games.
