DALLAS - Brent Burns scored two third-period goals, and the San Jose Sharks overcame Tyler Seguin's hat trick and rallied to beat the Dallas Stars 5-3 on Saturday night.
San Jose scored four goals in the third period — three against Dallas backup goalie Anders Lindback, who made 24 saves. Joe Thornton sealed the win with an empty-net goal at 19:18.
The Stars lost their seventh straight game (0-5-2). They had led 3-1 after two periods, with Seguin scoring all three goals. Seguin's sixth career hat trick, his second this season, came on his first three shots.
Patrick Marleau's power-play goal at 3:51 cut San Jose's deficit to 3-2. Burns tied it at 6:38 and added the go-ahead goal at 10:23.
Marleau and James Sheppard each had a goal and an assist. Logan Couture had three assists. Alex Stalock made 37 saves.
