DENVER -- Jason LaBarbera started in goal for the Anaheim Ducks on Sunday against the Colorado Avalanche at Pepsi Center after scheduled starter John Gibson sustained a lower-body injury in the warmup.

LaBarbera, 34, was recalled from the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League earlier in the day because the Ducks' other goaltender, Frederik Andersen, was experiencing tightness in his leg. Andersen didn't take part in an optional morning skate, and the Ducks say he's day-to-day.

LaBarbera played for the third time in three days and made 16 saves in Anaheim's 3-2 victory at Pepsi Center. He was in goal for Norfolk for home victories Friday and Saturday.

Former NHL goaltender Dwayne Roloson, now Anaheim's goaltending consultant, served as the Ducks' emergency goaltender. Roloson, 45, played 16 seasons in the NHL before retiring in 2012.
