Jets forward Cormier reassigned to AHL

The Winnipeg Jets announced they have reassigned forward Patrice Cormier to the St. John's IceCaps of the American Hockey League.

Cormier, 24, has played in four games this season with the St. John's IceCaps collecting two goals and five penalty minutes. He did not appear in any games with the Jets since being recalled on Oct. 25. Cormier has compiled five points (1G, 4A) in 49 career NHL games with Winnipeg and the Atlanta Thrashers. The Moncton, NB native has collected 77 points (38G, 39A) and 261 penalty minutes in 167 AHL games with St. John's and the Chicago Wolves. He was originally drafted by the New Jersey Devils in the second round, 54th overall, in the 2008 NHL Draft.
