Jets re-assign Patrice Cormier to IceCaps

The Winnipeg Jets announced they have re-assigned forward Patrice Cormier to the St. John’s IceCaps of the American Hockey League.

Cormier, 24, played in nine games with the Jets in 2013-14 recording three assists and seven penalty minutes. He’s compiled five points (1G, 4A) in 49 career NHL games with Winnipeg and the Atlanta Thrashers. The Moncton, NB native has spent parts of the last three seasons with St. John’s accumulating 70 points (34 G, 36A) in 152 games as a member of the IceCaps. Cormier has collected 75 points (36G, 39A) and 256 penalty minutes in 163 AHL games with St. John’s and the Chicago Wolves. He was originally drafted by the New Jersey Devils in the second round, 54th overall, in the 2008 NHL Draft.
