LOS ANGELES -- Edmonton Oilers goalie Viktor Fasth left the game against the Los Angeles Kings in the first period Tuesday with a groin injury and will not return.

Fasth allowed three goals on 11 shots to the Kings and came off the ice during a television timeout late in the period. He was replaced by former Kings goalie Ben Scrivens, who received cheers from the Staples Center crowd.

Edmonton was already shorthanded with forwards Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Jordan Eberle out with injuries. The Oilers dressed four players with a combined seven games of NHL experience.
