Kings sign Auger, Leslie to entry-level contracts

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Kings have signed right wing Justin Auger and defenseman Zachary Leslie to three-year entry-level contacts, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today. Both players were assigned to the Manchester Monarchs (AHL) on September 26 after participating in Kings Training Camp.

Auger was originally selected by the Kings in the fourth round (103rd overall) of the 2013 NHL Draft. The 6-7, 227-pounder from Kitchener, Ontario has played for the Guelph Storm of the Ontario Hockey League since the 2011-12 season. Last year he recorded 23 points (11-12=23) and a career-high 61 penalty minutes in 53 games with the Storm.

Leslie was originally selected by the Kings in the sixth round (178th overall) of the 2013 NHL Draft. The 6-0, 183-pounder from Ottawa, Ontario has played for Guelph since 2011-12. Last season he had a career year with the Storm, posting career-highs in goals, assists and points (14-36=50). Among team defensemen, he tied for first in goals, second in points and assists, and third in plus-minus (plus-40).
