Blue Jackets re-sign Tyrell to one-year contract

Forward Dana Tyrell re-signed with the Columbus Blue Jackets, agreeing to a one-year, two-way contract, the team announced Monday. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Tyrell, 25, played seven games for the Tampa Bay Lightning last season. He played 63 games for the Springfield Falcons and Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League, and had a combined 15 goals and 33 points.

The Blue Jackets acquired Tyrell and defenseman Matt Taormina from the Lightning in March for forwards Dalton Smith and Jonathan Marchessault.

Tyrell, a second-round pick (No. 47) of the Lightning in the 2007 NHL Draft, had seven goals and 24 points in 132 games with Tampa Bay.
