Forward Linden Vey signed a one-year contract with the Vancouver Canucks, the team announced Wednesday.

Financial terms were not released, but the Vancouver Sun reported that the two-way contract will pay Vey $735,000 if he's in the NHL and $67,500 if he's playing in the American Hockey League.

Vey, 22, had five assists in 18 regular-season games last season for the Stanley Cup champion Los Angeles Kings. He had 14 goals and 48 points in 43 games for their AHL affiliate, the Manchester Monarchs.

Selected by the Kings in the fourth round (No. 96) of the 2009 NHL Draft, Vey was traded to the Canucks on June 28 for a second-round pick in the 2014 NHL Draft Vancouver previously had acquired in the deal that sent defenseman Jason Garrison to the Tampa Bay Lightning.

The Kings used the pick to select defenseman Roland McKeown at No. 50.
