On the Marc; Penguins goalie Fleury surging after first playoff series win in 4 years

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Pittsburgh Penguins goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury quietly answered his critics in the team's first-round playoff win over Columbus.

Fleury was steady as the Penguins dispatched the Blue Jackets in six games. He played his best in the final stages of the series.

After a pair of late miscues cost Pittsburgh in Game 4, he was dominant at times in Games 5 and 6 as the Penguins advanced.

The victory was the first series win by Fleury since the opening round of the 2010 post-season. He struggled at times in first-round losses in 2011 and 2012 and briefly lost his job to journeyman Tomas Vokoun last spring.

Fleury is firmly in control of his job now as the Penguins prepare for a second-round matchup with either Philadelphia or the New York Rangers.
