QMJHL Roundup: Foreurs force Game 7 with 7-5 win over Mooseheads

VAL-D'OR, Que. - Anthony Beauregard and Guillaume Gelinas each had two goals and an assist as the Val-d'Or Foreurs forced a Game 7 in their third-round series by defeating the visiting Halifax Mooseheads 7-5 on Monday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League playoff action.

Anthony Richard also scored twice for the Foreurs, who jumped out to a 4-0 lead before Halifax finally got on the board, and Anthony Mantha added a single goal. Nicolas Aube-Kubel and Louick Marcotte chipped in with three assists apiece.

Luca Ciampini had a pair of goals for the Mooseheads while Brent Andrews, Andrew Schewfelt and Philippe Gadoury also scored.

Halifax's Jonathan Drouin, who leads the playoffs in scoring with 40 points in 15 games, tacked on three assists.

Val-d'Or's Antoine Bibeau made 38 saves for the win. Zachary Fucale stopped 17-of-22 shots for the Mooseheads before giving way to Kevin Darveau, who gave up two goals on 10 shots in 15:49 of relief.

The Foreurs went 2 for 10 on the power play while Halifax scored once on three chances with the man advantage.

The Mooseheads will host Game 7 on Tuesday.
