Injured Leafs Bernier and Ranger skate, but not guaranteed to play against Blues

TORONTO - Jonathan Bernier and Paul Ranger skated Monday, though that's far from a guarantee that the injured Maple Leaf players will be ready to face the Blues on Tuesday night.

Bernier has missed five straight games with a groin injury suffered March 13. Coach Randy Carlyle said Toronto's No. 1 goalie is making progress but couldn't say for sure that he's be available against St. Louis.

The same goes for defenceman Ranger, who has missed the past two with a neck injury. Ranger was hurt Wednesday on a hit from Alex Killorn of the Lightning.

A handful of other players were on the ice at Air Canada Centre the morning after the Leafs' loss at the New Jersey Devils, their fifth straight.
