Carl Klingberg scores twice to lift St. John's IceCaps over Wolf Pack 6-1

HARTFORD, Conn. - Carl Klingberg scored two goals and assisted on another to lift the St. John's IceCaps over the Hartford Wolf Pack 6-1 in American Hockey League action on Friday.

Josh Lunden also scored twice for the IceCaps (39-20-4), and Andrew Gordon and Jerome Samson had a goal and an assist apiece. Tyler Beskorowany made 26 saves for the win.

Danny Syvret had the lone goal for the Wolf Pack (27-30-7).

Dov Grumet-Morris started in net for Hartford, but was pulled after giving up five goals on 22 shots through 48:42. David LeNeveu stopped 3 of 4 shots in relief.

St. John's was 3 for 6 on the power play, while the Wolf Pack failed to score on three chances with the man advantage.

Lunden scored twice in the first period and Samson added another as the IceCaps broke out to a 3-0 lead in the first 12 minutes of the game.

Syvret put Hartford on the board at 9:16 of the second period, but Klingberg replied with his first goal of the game one minute later to regain the three-goal lead for St. John's.

The IceCaps scored twice more in the third period.
