The Washington Capitals have signed defenseman Dmitry Orlov to a two-year, $4 million contract extension.
Orlov will earn $1.75 million next season and $2.25 million during the 2015-16 season.
Orlov, 22, has three goals and nine points in 39 games for the Capitals this season. As a rookie two seasons ago, he had three goals and 19 points in 60 games. He spent most of the 2012-13 season in the American Hockey League.
