SAINT JOHN, N.B. - Saint John forward Stephen Anderson remains in a hospital after he was injured by a body check in Sunday's Quebec Major Junior Hockey League game against the Acadie-Bathurst Titan, the Sea Dogs said in a release Monday.

Anderson, 19, left the ice under his own power in the second period after taking an open-ice hit near the Titan blue-line. He did not return to the game.

The Morell, P.E.I., native was transported by ambulance to Saint John Regional Hospital shortly after the game following some complications.

The team said Monday that Anderson is conscious and resting at the hospital.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with Stephen and his family right now," Sea Dogs President Wayne Long said in a statement. "We are doing everything we can to support the family and the team."

Anderson has 11 goals and 25 points in 38 games this season.
