San Jose Sharks forward Tomas Hertl will miss at least a month following a knee-on-knee hit from the Los Angeles Kings' Dustin Brown in a game between the teams Thursday, according to CSNBayArea.com.

The report said the prognosis was confirmed by a team source and Hertl was undergoing an MRI to determine the specific damage to his knee.

Hertl, who leads NHL rookies with 15 goals and 25 points in 35 games, took a knee-on-knee hit from Brown with 61 seconds left in the first period and immediately went to the dressing room. Brown was given a five-minute kneeing penalty and a game misconduct.
