Carolina Hurricanes center Elias Lindholm, the No. 5 pick of the 2013 NHL Draft, was sent to the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League on Wednesday, and the Hurricanes recalled forward Chris Terry from Charlotte.

Lindholm had one goal and one assist in 10 games with the Hurricanes. Although he's 18, he is eligible to play in the AHL because he was drafted out of Sweden and not from a team in the Canadian Hockey League.

In 10 AHL games, Terry, 24, leads Charlotte in goals (six) and shots on goal (35), and is tied for the team lead in points (10) and power-play goals (three).

The Brampton, Ontario, native made his NHL debut with the Hurricanes in 2012-13, scoring one goal in three games. Terry led Charlotte in goals (25), assists (35) and points (60) in 2012-13, and tied for first in the AHL in game-winning goals (eight).
