Boyle ready to return for Sharks on Saturday: report

San Jose Sharks defenseman Dan Boyle reportedly will return to the lineup Saturday when the team hosts the Phoenix Coyotes at SAP Center.

Kevin Kurz of CSNBayArea.com first reported the news Friday.

"I’ve been skating so, yeah, it's pretty much [the coach’s] decision at this point," Boyle told the website. "I've informed them where I’m at, and now it’s up to them."

Boyle, who has missed the past seven games, sustained an upper-body injury Oct. 15 after receiving a hit by Maxim Lapierre of the St. Louis Blues. Lapierre was suspended for five games by the NHL Department of Player Safety.

"If the training staff, doctors and Dan all think he's ready to go, he's ready to go," coach Todd McLellan.

In six games, Boyle has one goal, two points and a plus-2 rating.

CSN reported forward Brent Burns (upper body) remains out. He skated for 20 minutes Friday.
