WHL Roundup: Perreaux with three goals, four points as Raiders down Wheat Kings

PRINCE ALBERT, Sask. - Carson Perreaux scored three times and added an assist as the Prince Albert Raiders downed the visiting Brandon Wheat Kings 8-6 on Friday in Western Hockey League play.

Josh Morrissey had two goals and an assist for the Raiders (3-0-0) while Leon Draisaitl scored once and set up two more.

Craig Leverton and Matteo Gennaro each scored once for Prince Albert and Shane Danyluk chipped in with three assists.

Eric Roy led the Wheat Kings (2-1-0) with a goal and two assists while Rihards Bukarts, Jack Palmer, John Quenneville, Richard Nejezchleb and Tim McGauley each scored once.

Cole Cheveldave made 29 saves for the win as Curtis Honey stopped 37-of-44 shots in defeat.

Prince Albert went 2 for 9 on the power play while Brandon scored three times on nine chances with the man advantage.


Oil Kings 4 Tigers 3

EDMONTON — Cody Corbett and Henrik Samuelsson each had two goals and an assist as the Oil Kings edged Medicine Hat.

Samuelsson scored the eventual winner at 16:38 of the third period for Edmonton (2-1-0) while Tristan Jarry made 33 saves for the victory.

Tyler Lewington, Curtis Valk and Cole Sanford scored for the Tigers (2-1-0) as Marek Langhamer stopped 23-of-27 shots in defeat.


Rebels 4 Pats 1

RED DEER, Alta., — Connor Bleackley scored once and had three points as the Rebels defeated Regina.

Grayson Pawlenchuk and Matt Bellerive each had a goal and an assist for Red Deer (3-0-0) while Rhyse Dieno added a single goal.

Chandler Stephenson scored for the Pats (1-3-0).

Taz Burman made 16 saves for the win as Dawson MacAuley turned away 23 shots in a losing cause.


Late games in the WHL include, Lethbridge at Kootenay, Moose Jaw at Swift Current, Kamloops at Prince George, Everett at Vancouver and Tri-City at Seattle.
