Philadelphia Flyers forward Jakub Voracek left Tuesday night's preseason game against the New Jersey Devils at Wells Fargo Center after what the team called an upper-body injury.

Voracek was hooked by Devils defenseman Bryce Salvador on a second-period breakaway, and his lower back collided with the post. He was awarded a penalty shot, but slid the puck wide against goaltender Cory Schneider and left for the dressing room shortly afterward. Vincent Lecavalier took Voracek’s spot on the first line.

Voracek did not return to the game, which the Flyers lost 2-1. He led the Flyers last season with 22 goals and 46 points in 48 games.

After the game, Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren said the injury was "nothing serious" and that Voracek would be evaluated again on Wednesday.
