Coyotes re-sign Rundblad to two-year contract

The Phoenix Coyotes on Monday announced the team has re-signed restricted free agent defenseman David Rundblad to a two-year contract. Financial terms were not released.

Rundblad had one assist and a minus-5 rating in eight games with the Coyotes last season. The 6-foot-2, 195-pound blueliner spent most of 2012-13 playing for the Portland Pirates in the American Hockey League, where he had nine goals, 30 assists and a plus-8 rating in 50 games.

Selected by the St. Louis Blues with the 17th pick of the 2009 NHL Draft, Rundblad has one goal, seven assists and a minus-17 rating in 38 NHL games with the Coyotes and Ottawa Senators.

The Coyotes also signed defenseman Mark Louis to a two-year, two-way contract, and defenseman Mathieu Brodeur and forwards Brett Hextall and Brandon McMillian each to a one-year, two-way contract.
