Flames re-sign forwards Bouma, Byron

The Calgary Flames announced Saturday they have re-signed forward Lance Bouma and center Paul Byron to one-year, two-way contracts.

Bouma will make $577,500 at the NHL level. Byron's contract will pay him $643,500 while he's with the Flames.

Bouma, 23, had one goal in three games with the Flames' American Hockey League affiliate, the Abbotsford Heat, before he suffered a season-ending knee injury. He was Calgary's third-round choice (No. 78) in the 2008 NHL Draft and has one goal, four points and 13 penalty minutes in 43 NHL games, all with the Flames.

Byron, a sixth-round pick (No. 179) by the Buffalo Sabres in the 2007 NHL Draft, had one assist and two penalty minutes in four games with the Flames last season, and six goals, 15 points and 38 penalty minutes in 38 games with the Heat. Calgary acquired Byron from Buffalo on June 25, 2011. He has four goals, eight points and six penalty minutes in 34 NHL games with the Sabres and Flames.
