NEW YORK – Detroit Red Wings forward Justin Abdelkader has been suspended for two games for charging Anaheim Ducks defenseman Toni Lydman during Game 3 of their Western Conference Quarterfinal series in Detroit on Saturday, May 4, the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today.
The incident occurred at 15:11 of the second period. Abdelkader was assessed a major penalty for charging and a game misconduct.
