Penguins acquire Jussi Jokinen for pick

The Pittsburgh Penguins have acquired forward Jussi Jokinen from the Carolina Hurricanes for a conditional draft pick.

Jokinen was recently placed on waivers by the Hurricanes and cleared. A shootout specialist, the 30-year-old has six goals and 11 points in 33 games this season.

Jokinen had his breakout season in 2009-10, scoring 30 goals and posting 65 points. He finished with 52 and 46 points the past two seasons.

In 569 career games over parts of eight NHL seasons for the Dallas Stars, Tampa Bay Lightning and Hurricanes, Jokinen has 121 goals and 346 points.

He also has nine goals and 15 points in 27 Stanley Cup Playoff games, including seven goals and 11 points in 18 games during Carolina's run to the 2009 Eastern Conference Finals.
