PORTLAND, Ore. - Troy Rutkowski scored once and set up two more as the Portland Winterhawks defeated the visiting Everett Silvertips 4-1 on Saturday in Western Hockey League playoff action.
Ty Rattie had a goal and an assist for the Winterhawks, who evened the first-round matchup at one game apiece, while Shaun MacPherson and Derrick Pouliot added a goal each.
Joshua Winquist scored the lone goal for the Silvertips.
Mac Carruth only had to make 10 saves for the win as Austin Lotz turned away 30-of-34 shots in defeat.
Portland went 1 for 7 on the power play while Everett scored once on four chances with the man advantage.
Game 3 is set for Wednesday when the Silvertips host the Winterhawks at Comcast Arena.
