Scheifele, Athanasiou combine for six points as the Colts take 2-0 series lead

BARRIE, Ont. - Mark Scheifele and Andreas Athanasiou each had a goal and two assists as the Barrie Colts defeated the visiting Kingston Frontenacs 7-4 in Ontario Hockey League playoff action Saturday night.

Anthony Camara scored two goals for Barrie while Devon Rymarchuk, Steven Beyers and Mitchell Theoret each scored once.

Zach Hall added three assists for the Colts, who lead the first-round matchup 2-0.

Spencer Watson and Mikko Vainonen replied with a goal and an assist apiece for Kingston as Cody Alcock and Henri Ikonen added single goals.

Sam Bennett contributed with two assists in the loss.

Colts' goaltender Mathias Niederberger made 44 saves in the win. Mike Morrison picked up the loss for the Frontenacs after giving up five goals on 20 shots in 30 minutes of action. Colin Furlong replaced Morrison in the second period and stopped 11-of-13 shots in relief.

Barrie went 2 for 5 on the power play while Kingston scored four times on eight chances with the man advantage.

Game 3 is scheduled for Monday Mar. 25th when the Frontenacs return home to host the Colts at the K-Rock Centre.
