RALEIGH, N.C. - Three Carolina Hurricanes defencemen were hurt Tuesday night during a game against the Florida Panthers.

Bobby Sanguinetti appeared to take a skate to the face, and Justin Faulk sustained an apparent right leg injury shortly before Tim Gleason was hit with a high stick.

Faulk was hurt midway through the second period when he collided with Jack Skille behind the net and hobbled to the dressing room. The team said he wouldn't return.

A few minutes later, Gleason was bloodied when he was hit by Scottie Upshall, drawing a double high-sticking penalty. He was back for the final 2 minutes of the period.

Sanguinetti was hurt in the first when a Florida player's skate appeared to clip his face during a collision. He returned by the start of the second.
