Jaedon Descheneau scores hat trick as Kootenay beats Swift Current

SWIFT CURRENT, Sask. - Jaedon Descheneau scored a hat trick as the Kootenay Ice defeated the Swift Current Broncos 5-2 in WHL play Monday afternoon.

Two of Descheneau's goals came on the power play while the third was into an empty net. Levi Cable and Zach McPhee also scored for the Ice (29-29-2).

Broncos leading scorer Adam Lowry added his 38th and 39th goals of the season.

Kootenay goaltender Mackenzie Skapski stopped 24 shots while Eetu Laurikainen made 20 saves for Swift Current (28-26-6).

The win puts Kootenay in eighth place in the Eastern Conference standings with 60 points, one ahead of Lethbridge. Swift Current remains in seventh spot, one point ahead of the Ice.
