Goodrow scores twice to lead Battalion to 5-3 win over Ottawa 67’s

OTTAWA - Barclay Goodrow scored twice to lead the Brampton Battalion to a 5-3 win over the Ottawa 67’s in OHL action Monday afternoon.

Brampton scored three times in the opening five minutes of the third period en route to its second straight win.

Zach Bell had a goal and an assist for the Battalion (27-21-9) while Brandon Robinson and Matt MacLeod had a goal each. Matej Machovsky made 25 saves for the win.

Ryan Van Stralen, Joseph Blandisi and Sergey Kuptsov scored for the 67’s (15-38-4). Jacob Blair was solid in goal, stopping 42 shots.

Bell broke a 2-2 tie at 2:58 of the third before MacLeod scored 3:20. Goodrow completed Brampton's third-period fireworks at 5:07.

The Battalion went 2-for-5 on the power play while the 67’s were 1-for-6 in losing their sixth straight game.
