Nedeljkovic stops 52 shots, Noesen scores winner as the Whalers edge the Rangers

KITCHENER, Ont. - Alex Nedeljkovic stopped 52-of-54 shots in regulation and overtime and then all five shooters he faced in the shootout as the Plymouth Whalers edged the host Kitchener Rangers 3-2 on Friday in Ontario Hockey League play.

Stefan Noesen scored the winner for the Whalers (30-16-9), who won their fourth game in a row, and Vincent Trocheck had a goal and an assist for the game's first star.

Zach Lorentz scored a single goal to round out Plymouth's offence.

Matt Puempel scored twice for the Rangers (32-15-8), who earned at least one point in their fifth straight game, and Matia Marcantuoni assisted on both of his club's goals.

Joel Vienneu made 21 saves in a losing cause.

Plymouth went 0 for 2 on the power play while Kitchener scored once on nine chances with the man advantage.
