MEDICINE HAT, Alta. - Pavlo Padakin scored a tiebreaking goal in the third period as the Calgary Hitmen beat the Medicine Hat Tigers 3-2 in Western Hockey League action Tuesday.
Hunter Shinkaruk had both goals for Medicine Hat (25-24-3), including a first-period dump-in that slipped through Calgary netminder Mack Shields.
Shields rebounded and the Hitmen never stopped forcing the play on the Tigers, outshooting the home team 48-26.
Victor Rask and Cody Sylvester had the other goals for Calgary (33-13-4). Shields made 24 saves while Cam Lanigan stopped 45 shots for Medicine Hat.
