CALGARY - Mack Shields stopped 16 shots as the Calgary Hitmen blanked the visiting Brandon Wheat Kings 5-0 on Sunday in Western Hockey League action.
Brady Brassart and Jake Virtanen each had a goal and an assist for the Hitmen (32-13-4), who won for the first time in three outings, while Chase Lang, Brooks Macek and Zane Jones scored a goal apiece.
Curtis Honey turned away 43-of-48 shots for the Wheat Kings (18-29-4), who have dropped back-to-back games and sit last in the Eastern Conference.
Calgary went 2 for 4 on the power play while Brandon failed to score on six chances with the man advantage.
