SAULT STE. MARIE, Ont. - Nick Halagian scored a short-handed goal in the first period and the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds never looked back in a 4-2 win over the London Knights in Ontario Hockey League action Sunday.

Halagian beat Knights goaltender Jake Patterson at 9:42 after his attempt to feed Colin Miller was deflected back to his stick, giving him a shot of his own at goal.

Miller scored on the power play just over three minutes later to give the Greyhounds (23-18-3) an early 2-0 lead.

Jared McCann and Brandon Alderson also scored for Sault Ste. Marie, while Nick Cousins chipped in with three assists and goalie Matt Murray made 17 saves.

The win was the Greyhounds' eighth straight on home ice.

Alex Broadhurst and Ryan Rupert replied for London (35-7-3), and Patterson stopped 14 saves.
