SWIFT CURRENT, Sask. - The Lethbridge Hurricanes scored five unanswered third period goals to score a 6-4 come-from-behind win over the host Swift Current Broncos in Western Hockey League action Tuesday afternoon.
Daniel Johnston's power-play goal with 5:18 left in regulation capped the comeback, as the Hurricanes converted two of six man advantage chances. Johnston now has seven goals on the season.
Remi Laurencelle tied the game at 11:53 of the third period. After Swift Current opened a 4-1 lead early in the third period, Lethbridge scored a pair of goals 1:51 apart when rookie Tyler Wong scored his second career goal and Sam McKechnie added his 18th of the year.
Brady Ramsay also scored for Lethbridge during a second period power play. Graham Hood added an empty net goal in the final seconds.
Coda Gordon his 13th and 14th goals of the season to lead the Broncos offence.
Broncos captain Adam Lowry reached the 25 goal plateau and added a first period assist in a two-point afternoon. Lowry extend his league best point streak to 15 games (15 goals, 12 assists).
Swift Current also had a power-play goal from Ryon Moser.
Hurricanes goaltender Ty Rimmer turned aside 32 of 36 shots.
Broncos rookie netminder Landon Bow yielded five goals on 33 shots.
The win strengthens Lethbridge's grip on fifth place in the Eastern Conference standings at 19-17-5.
Swift Current falls to 17-19-5 and have now lost two straight while remaining seventh in the Eastern Conference.
